Hello Folks,
I bought my girlfriend a yellow Chambers stove, low back with timer and oven knob on front of stove (model 61 C, I think). The oven is in beautiful shape, however, the pivot to raise the griddle seized and took days of lubrication to free it. It now moves smoothly. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the metal wheel that rides on the lever that raises the broiler plate is cracked and has a flat spot. Does anyone know of a source for this part. I am looking for the entire arm on which the wheel is attached that is controlled by the lever on front of the stove. Also, how is the griddle lever (at the front left of the stove) adjusted so that when it is in the resting position it points straight down?
Thank you for your help.

What an excellent Boyfriend you are.
Do you have the maual? It usually has that kind of info in it.
Also see "shrinking Knowledge pool" thread to read Lowracer's contribution related to how to search this site with google. Maybe "broiler crank, or handle..."
Congratulations on your stove. Do you have a digital camera? We love stove photos. Does this stove have a name yet? (They like to be named).

I think the piece you are describing is a bearing
mounted to a bar that is controlled by the lever
on the rt front of the griddle area of the stove.
There is a screw on the inside lower rt side of
the broiler pan. with the burner removed you can
see it. There is a little bushing that allows the
bar to swivel as the handle is turned. You can
remove just the bar with the bearing on it. The
bearing is small and is Braded on at the factory.
You could probably drill it out and locate a new
bearing an industrial bearing supply house. Then you could re brad it or use a bolt and lock nut. We have
two in our little town but they supply the chemical plants and the oil industry. They can
usually match any bearing from super small to
super large. If this is the problem if you can't
locate a new bearing or you don't want to fool
with it. I have one but it is used and would need
to be lubricated. I can sell you one reasonable
or I can sell you the whole assembly reasonable.
Good Luck
